HorizonTech Falcon Tank Review
Summary: Simple on the outside, the coils in the HorizonTech Falcon are what sets this tank apart. Suitable for flavour chasers or cloud chasers, it's a well designed tank that has some of the higher end features you find in the markets favourite atomisers.
Unique Flax Coils
There’s a world of sub Ohm tanks for vapers to choose from these days. The thing that sets each of them apart now is more often the coil than the tank itself. HorizonTech have created a tank that’s been touted as an absolute flavour machine, almost certainly due to its mesh coils. This lesser known brand released the Falcon, a tank with four compatible coils of varying materials and wattage ranges. Let’s have a look how the HorizonTech Falcon measures up to the other popular tanks on the market.
As usual, let’s start off with the construction. The body is stainless steel, making it a hardy and high end feeling option. It comes in a variety of colours for those of you who prefer something a little more unique than black or stainless steel. You can also choose from red, green, rainbow or blue. The sloped resin drip tip is similar to the SMOK drip tips but feels more comfortable to vape on and looks great too. When it comes to refilling, it’s a standard unscrew to remove top cap but the threading is very smooth and only needs about half a turn to take off. The knurling on the top cap also makes for easier gripping. Inside, there are two wide fill ports which accommodate any of your juice bottle nozzles easily. This also allows air flow to move through as you top up. This definitely helps prevent air vacuums and accidental overflows, making it a thoughtful feature.
Inside, the coil is what really makes this tank stand out. There are four coils to choose from, made with some unique wicking materials you don’t often see in pre-made coils. The F1, F2 and F3 are a each comprised of different combinations of wood pulp, flax fibre and flax paper. Their wicking is pretty good and these ones would be a definite go-to for cloud chasers using this tank. While the flavour is decent with the F series of coils, it’s much better with the M1. The M1 is the only mesh coil in this range and as you’d expect, the lifespan and flavour from this one is exceptional. Its cloud producing ability isn’t shabby at all either and it’s meant to be vaped around 70 – 80 watts which is perfect for a lot of sub Ohm vapers.
All in all, while it looks like most of your typical tanks it’s definitely worth some consideration if you’re in the market for something new. The HorizonTech Falcon is right up there with the quality of some of the most popular options. It’s easily as good as the Vaporesso NRG tank and has much better coils than the SMOK Prince tank. I experienced no leaks, changing coil and refilling is a breeze and the flavour from the mesh coils is wonderful.
