Aspire Puxos Vape Kit Review
Summary: Accommodating either a 21700, 20700 or 18650 it's a compact but high powered little mod, capable of up to 100 watts. Easy to use and great to look at, the Aspire Puxos is unique enough to make you look twice.
An adaptable single-cell kit
With so many dual-cell mods and kits on the market, it’s nice to have a few new single cell additions to consider too. They’re more pocket friendly and therefore more portable without having to compromise on the broad functionality. Aspire have released the Puxos, a palm sized little kit that can take three kinds of battery. A 21700 or 20700 will fit in as they are, or you can use an adapter to fit an 18650, any of which will give you up to 80 watts of power but the larger capacity batteries will go as high as 100 watts. The mod is combined with the Cleito Pro tank, following the success of the original Cleito it sets itself up to be a great little kit.
Starting off with the build quality, the magnetised panels are sturdy and satisfyingly durable. To put in your battery you click one of them open and the panels themselves can be swapped out for different colour. The screen is a big highlight for this kit, especially on such a little mod, it displays a lot especially considering its size. Showing everything you need including wattage or temperature, amps, voltage, your coil resistance and battery life. The buttons are responsive and clicky, making changing your settings and firing the mod easy and comfortable too. As far as the tank goes, the Cleito Pro lives up to its predecessors standards. It’s a high quality tank and with wide open airflow is great for cloud production. Closed down and on a lower wattage it’s a comfortable mouth to lung draw too. The curved Delrin drip tip is a nice touch, and sits comfortably in the mouth and also seems to help prevent any spit back even with longer drags and when the coil starts to reach the end of its life. The fill function is nice, though a little fiddly and a simple slide top might have been better than having to slide the metal sleeve up and having to tip the tank to the side to refill.
The adaptability of this one is nice, especially if you already have a mod with 18650, 21700 or 20700 batteries because the Puxos can take any of these (the 18650 does require an adapter but there’s one included in the kit). As far as performance goes, it’s consistent throughout its wattage ranges and when combined with the Cleito Pro tank gives a satisfying amount of vapour and great flavour across the board but seems to be best at around the 68-72 watt mark. There’s plenty of output modes to play with including Bypass, TCR and temperature control that supports a number of wire types too. The Puxos would be a perfect option for someone looking to get into customised Sub Ohm vaping while still having the portability of smaller, simpler devices. It’s easy to use, looks wise the design is fairly typical but the panels add something unique and its capability is impressive for such a pocket friendly mod.
