Apollo Endeavor eGo E-cigarette Review
Apollo Review Summary
Summary: Despite the high initial cost, it offers excellent build quality and an allround more premium product
Apollo Electronic Cigarettes was originally founded in California early on in the e-cigarette revolution but they also have a European office located in south London. The company has its own research and development facility, and they manufacture their own products. This review takes a look at the Apollo Endeavor Starter Kit.
Although it’s called a starter kit, this product is actually aimed at vapers who know exactly what they want, and is a step away from the standard e-cigarette that most newcomers to vaping get started with. This is definitely a kit for the serious, committed vaper and this is reflected in the cost, £48.95.
However, for that price, you do get your money’s worth since the kit consists of two luminous batteries, two dual coil clearomisers, a USB charger, a mains adapter and two 10ml bottles of e-liquid. A 10ml bottle of e-liquid is equivalent to around 100 cigarettes, so this kit will save about £100 on the cost of the same amount of conventional cigarettes. The kit comes in three colour choices, blue, black or stainless steel.
The kit arrives in an attractively styled box although it’s made of cardboard and does not include a hard carry case as some kits do. The components themselves are all well-designed and have a substantial, robust feel. The kit includes an easy-to-follow instruction manual.
Apollo offer free postage for orders of more than £30, which this kit obviously qualifies for. The company dispatches orders within two working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) of receipt and shipping is by Royal Mail. Delivery time is from two to seven days, although if the Royal Mail service is working properly your goods should arrive at the shorter end of that time scale.
The Apollo Endeavor Starter Kit comes with high capacity batteries which will last for some 800 and 1,000 puffs, the equivalent of about 55 to 70 tobacco cigarettes. They have a standard 510 thread, making them compatible with clearomisers from other brands. The batteries have a three-color LED system to indicate charge level and safety mechanisms to prevent against short circuits or overcharging. When they need recharging the battery LED blinks and recharge time is around one hour.
Once you start puffing on the clearomiser, you’ll immediately see that this is a quality piece of kit since the vapour draws easily – there’s no huffing and puffing to get a decent inhalation.
The other thing that marks this kit out is the extraordinary choice of flavours – 36 in all, with new ones regularly added. These range from the standard such as classic and menthol through to some fairly exotic options like blueberry Kona coffee, gingerbread and Zen peach tea. There’s also a good selection of nicotine strengths all the way from zero through to extra high (24mg of nicotine) with low (6mg), medium (12mg) and high (18mg) in between.
Apollo offers a limited lifetime warranty which applies to electronic components but does not include clearomisers or e-liquids. Clearomisers come with a two-week warranty. To make good on your warranty, you need to contact the company to receive a return merchandise authorisation slip.
If you’ve already tried vaping with standard e-cigarettes and want to take it to another level, this may well be the kit for you. Advantages of this product include the ability to refill your clearomisers and more directly control your vaping experience. The massive choice of different e-liquid flavours is another major plus.
